Gimp
Gimp is an image manipulator program. We all know that gimp is an image editor.  Gimp and available in many operating systems such Linux. Gimp is also available for MAC OSX. With every new release of gimp, they release many many many bug fixes. Gimp is now available in many languages. Gimp is the best Image editor for Linux operating system. It is a good Photoshop alternative for a Linux user. With gimp you can can do basic things like image re sizing, cropping, image compression with ease. It is available for Windows computers.

If you are Linux user, then you need to follow a different path to install gimp on your Linux desktop

There are two ways to do this,

1. Using GUI
2. Using terminal

make sure that you are connected to the internet.

You can install gimp using terminal by using this commands:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gimp

Using GUI you can simple install gimp from the Ubuntu software center, so lets begin to do this.

First I will show you how to do this with GUI.

1. Start Ubuntu software center

2. Then search for gimp

3. Click on install and it will get installed

4. You need to enter your user account password for installing gimp.

5. Enter your password and then click on authenticate.

6.In the progress tab you can see the Ubuntu software center is installing gimp. First Ubuntu software center downloads all the dependencies and .deb packages and installation files that are needed for installation. Ubuntu software center will download and install Gimp for you.

Gimp is installed now.

7. For starting Gimp, you need to click on dash home and then you need to search for gimp, after that click on small gimp icon to start gimp.
