I was using BSNL broadband connection since a long time. It works pretty well with zero downtime. Its download speed is also very good as considering the price point. So I thought about measuring its actual download and upload speed. As BSNL broadband connection is available in all over the India, many people were asking me about the real speed of broadband connection.

When I bought my first DSL router from BSNL they told me that I will get 250 kbps speed. But when I measured actual download/upload speed of my Internet connection, Read the entire article to know about real speed of BSNL Broadband connection.

Here in this blog post I'm sharing my experience with BSNL broadband connection with you.. Speedtest.net is a free site to test you Internet connection speed. So I visited speedtest.net to measure my internet connection speed. When I did this speed test I was using 800 rupees unlimited pack that could give me up to 250 kbps speed. When i performed the speed test, my actual download speed was 0.24 Mbps and my upload speed was 0.45 Mbps.

Take a look at the screenshot give above. This speed is not enough for heavy downloading. However I can browse internet and play YouTube videos in low quality. But I'm completely unable to watch HD videos and download heavy files with this speed.

So, this is the real speed of BSNL broadband connection with 800 rupees data plan.
